Combining 2-D, 3-D and Technology

Recently, Fourth and Fifth graders had a great time creating art where the 2-D drawing and the 3-D objects seemed to interact and react to each other. I saw this on Pinterest and knew that the students would enjoy the visual joke of it.

It was a challenge for many and fun to see how their minds came up with such interesting solutions. Since the emphasis was less on the drawing, several students really came out of their shells
on this one.

I loved his solution to cut off the corner when his fingers could not quite reach the neck.

I used my iPad to photograph each and the Reflector app to show all the completed works on the SmartBoard.
All around, a simple successful way to include some talk about
the elements and principles of art.
