End of the Year Rolls Around

I have always been fond of circles (but not polka dots for some reason :)  Maybe it is the way our school years go in the art room. Never really an ending, just a few weeks for some R and R and we start over again. I get to see the same sweet faces again in new combinations and with sun-kissed noses. Together we start the next art adventure.

I had grabbed a couple of 3x6 feet banners at the Teacher Recycle/ Reuse Store last year and thought that I'd put them to use. Some of our second grade students helped me paint compositions using circles. When the paintings were dry, I added a sealer coat of varnish to add some shine and protection. Finally, the paintings were hung on the same bamboo frames that displayed our land art pieces. It's a great punch of color outside our main school entrance.
