First Grade Architects

Inspired by the works of American architect Frank Gehry, we created blueprints by stamping with white paint. We thought of the basic shapes that you find in architecture. After the paint was dry, we added color and pattern with oil pastels to let the builder know exactly how we wanted our structures to look. Some students threw convention to the wind and created  fantastical designs while others were a bit more restrained. Either way, it was a great way to learn about the legendary architect as well as work with some fun materials.
