How do artists show movement?

That was the question that second grade set out to answer in their study of Vincent van Gogh. After watching a short video of his life and techniques and style, we worked to capture the movement and energy of one of our favorite physical activities. It was hard for some to move away from details and trying to color realistically, but I think that the students did an amazing job and learned about a great artist.

First Grade Blue "Prints"

Today we talked about what an architect does
and looked at some of the quirky structures of Frank Guehry.
We listed different types of buildings that we have in our community and learned that an achitect's plans are called blueprints. Then we designed our own blueprints
